Mural of the Palestinian martyr, Dr. Shaqaqi, located on Juydan Street at the intersection of Zartusht Street, Tehran. The portrait of Dr. Shaqaqi appears next to an image of Ayatollah Khomeini, above the Dome of the Rock, a rose, and a standard in the form of a hand. The hand, or panjah, is a symbol of Shi’i Islam. The two inscriptions inform us that the mural commemorates the Palestinian liberation movement and the one-hundredth anniversary of Khomeini’s birth.
